iPhone Background Uploads

Hi,

I'm not an iPhone user, but they are the bane of my wireless network...

What upload tasks do they perform in the background?

I've figured out it definitely happens when they get plugged into a charge, they completely max my internet upload bandwidth, I assume its a Picture and Video backup that kicks in.

Could somebody please give me common causes of the problem so I can get them to be scheduled for morning hours or turned off.

Thanks

If the user is syncing to the cloud then that's the probable culprit.

Thanks, from the description I found now on one of the phones its seems that is it "When phone is connected to wifi, plugged in and locked".

I see it doesn't offer a scheduler for the Cloud backup, just as per the description in quotation, is there and App that can do this? Set a time for it to occur that is?

The bigger issue (wrt bandwidth usage) is the Photo Stream uploads, that can be switched off separate from the normal iCLoud backup. The iCloud backup is incremental, once you take the knock from the initial backup, it not that much on a daily basis.

My iCloud backups usually run between 0:00 and 02:00, not scheduled.
