so apple support live chat said contact apple sa, the guys just need proof that its not stolen and then they will escalate it and the process takes upto 4 days to be resolved

You can access system files with iFunbox.

But the device probably needs to be jailbroken, which means it has to be activated........

I don't know what happens if you attempt to access a locked iphone with iFunbox, it might be worth a try.

i smell a rat , vodashop does not deal in second hand phones , unless it was a private sale with a staff member , secondly , apple will under no circumstances release any apple id information without a court order , in this instance you would have to go to the US.

If your device is on iOS 7 then it will be activated when you turn on Find my iPhone.

i cant help but wonder if they looked in op's macbook (i think it was a macbook) for any iphone backup, & then extract text / call / internet history from the backup - if there was one

i was asked to try obtain text / call info from a iphone last yr.
suddenly the iphone was not "available", but the mbp was.
procedure was not too difficult, even on a password protected machine - a little time consuming, but not too difficult.

If you are the owner, they should assist you. Now is the case where third party (from foreign country - 'maybe' from oppressive government) is trying to obtain personal information without Court order and get what they want. It is opportunistic approach (at least).
