iPhone stuck in restore mode - Please help?

I was in a hurry when I put my iPhone (16 Gb) on the cradle to charge and didn't pay attention to the updates that were done, so my phone was updated to firmware 2.0.0? Previously the phone was 1.1.4 and Pwaned also bootneutered.

I followed the tutorial that specified the removal of iTunes 7.7 and installed iTunes 7.5, I then tried to restore the phone (Firmware 1.1.4) but only get the error message (error code 50).

The phone is now stuck in the restore mode (connector and apple logo)

I tried Pwanage and iLiberty but neither program has any effect on the phone.

Any advice please :confused:

Well, did you buy your phone from a registered dealer? You do know that the phones were AT&T Locked? I also read that the new "unblocked" phones, cant do updates and have problems with loading stuff from the internet.

Thanks for the links, I will try them tonight. I got my iPhone through EBay for about $500. Had it sent by surface post to SA, just remember that you pay tax on the invoice amount before the post office gives it to you.

I think you should wait a little while and get the new 3G iPhone, but get one it is the greatest.

Ok....

What I would do, is connect the phone to itunes, and hold the home key and on off key - this will restart the phone and put it back into restore mode.

Then - search the net - modmyifone.com is a good place to start and download a version of the 1.1.4 firmware. Click restore while holding down the option key on a mac, or alt (i think) on a PC and then select the firmware you downloaded. This will restore it to a locked 1.1.4 version. Load Ziphone or Pwnage or whatever, and you are good to go.

The 2.0 firmware Pwnage is coming out SOOON! So you could always just wait. Don't stress, you definately can fix the phone.
