IPL 2012 Discussion Thread

How the hell did that guy get all the way to the pitch? Lol, looked like he was putting some paper towels on Gambhir's head. :wtf:

Looks like lilggg is going to pip us for the yellow cap!

And he'll go top of the MyBB group

You don't need to thank me for rescuing the day... and taking the yellow off of lilggg :o :D

Yea nice one, all thanks to that Rajasthan game u got 2 points :(

Why is there no yellow cap leaderboard on the other pools? Also the super15 doesn't have it either.

Looked extremely sore when they showed the little girl stumbling out of the seat with blood just gushing from her face .
Im sure she would have received something from Gail to make up for the incident .

AB de Villiers also did very well to carry on when Gail `s innings ended

I heard the commentators exclaiming, didn't realise it was something significant. I'm sure she'll give her something substantial...

Liked AB's innovative shots.

Interesting IPL number of sixes stats. Gayle has the most sixes and gets almost 3 sixes per innings on average. The others that are close behind have played over two times as many matches. Nobody else in the entire IPL even comes close (or even halfway) to his six hitting power when you look at matches played vs number of sixes.

Gayle: "I'm a bit sad as one of my sixes broke a little girl's nose in the stand. I will be going straight to the hospital now!"

From what I have heard about Gayle, he is a very likeable and genuine person, so the young lass is probably in for a surprise.

That aside, with the Indians being so fanatical about cricket, I am sure she will look back (in time) fondly on the incident where she was watching an IPL game and smacked with the ball in the face. And her grandchildren will be asking about the story in decades to come and listen and marvel about the awesomeness of the big, legendary West Indian batsman ;)

Another interesting point, just see how far down the list you have to go to find the first Saffer :(

CSK v Pune in Chennai

... and I see I am alone in my pick of Pune:

Either my crystal ball is fine tuned or I am smoking socks :D

Anyhow some news from the toss:

Toss: MSD flips it, and Ganguly wins it. Pune will bowl. Bollinger, a first game for Wriddhiman Saha, and Shadab Jakati are in. Albie Morkel has flown back to South Africa to attend the funeral of Louis Vorster who died after being shot during an armed robbery in Gauteng. Yo Mahesh has been left out, not sure whose place Saha takes.

Pune are missing one of their best bowlers this season as Ashok Dinda has a side strain. His replacement is experienced left-arm-spinner Murali Kartik.

S Rajesh, our stats editor, has dug this up: It is MS Dhoni's 100th T20 game as captain. Adam Gilchrist is next on the list, with 68.

Not a good advert for the country ... met him when I did my national service in Heidelberg ... RIP Louis :(

Teams:
