ipod audio question

hi guys

ok so here is my problem, when i play a song though pc via itunes it can go crazy loud on my z5500 speakers but when i plug my ipod into a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack, the sound is way softer, with the ipod on max volume and iv checked the max audio volume setting and its set to full....

any ideas why its softer......?????

I have noticed the exact same thing with my iPod. It is weird.

Havent you maybe set the volume lock?
There is an option to set the maximum volume on your ipod.
Check it out under settings on your ipod.

There is also the aspect that your PC's will be preamping the signal way more than the Ipod...
