Ipod or psp

depends what you want to do?

games and video clips work out fine on a 4GB PSP Memory card. Ipod is kinda limited to music unless you get the video Ipod....

but lately both iPod and PSP have been gathering dust... sigh.

cant you get more than 4GB and why is it gathering dust dont people buy then anymore

I have a 30 GB iPod video. It really is amazing (It is my second ipod. I started with a 4GB iPod mini)

If you dont have one yet, get it

I also have the 30GB Video iPod and it works really well for me.
I suppose it only works out for people who want to listen to music most of the time. You only have enough battery for about 2 hours of video, but the main feature I like about it, is it's a glorified memory stick. :D

I got bored of both... good for holidays though...

PSP seems kinda arb. Not as good as a DS for games and not nearly as good as an iPod for Music. Cant even imagine trying to take the PSP for a jog

Edit : And lets not forget that massive, complete failure that is UMD. And it serves them right, always trying to bring in their own new formats

get yourself a laptop (one of those 1.2 kg sony with 8-9 hours battery life) :D can do what ipod and psp can do plus much much more!

It all depends on what exactly you want to do
I have a 30Gb iPod photo and a 60Gb Video ... absolutely marvelous machines for storing music, playing it wherever you go and dumping digital photos from the camera (or just use it as an external storage device).
I have a PSP as well, and that is more of an entertainment device for me. Sitting in front of the tv, waiting at vodaworld. Basically anywhere you can sit and play games.

The one thing i positively abhore about iPod is iTunes. I have found a few alternatives but nothing with 'all' the features. Anyone got a decent alternative?

What about the Iriver Clix? That thing looks pretty cool.

I need to buy a new mp3 player, what's the best thing to get?

can a person dump files other than music or video on a ipod? like excel files, word files?

I need a voice recorder,
want a 20gig 1.8" hard drive
and a mp3 player that can be hooked up to the car.

I think a Ipod can be all of that into 1.

Yes. iPod is basically a standard hard drive that windows detects like a memory stick. Also, if you want a voice recorder, you'll have to buy a add-on unit that plugs into the iPod. It doesn't have this capability built in. I really only have experience on the 30GB and 60GB Video iPods.

EDIT: Also be careful not to plug your iPod into someone elses pc who has iTunes setup to auto update else their pc will overwrite your iPod.

I've got both but I've never been too impressed with the PSP. I dont know what I'm going to do if my iPod conks out though as the new ones dont have firewire and I use mine extensively.

And I love iTunes. :D The windoze version might be bloated but certainly not the mac version.

If you are talking about the iPod Video, then it does have firewire capabilities. I connect using firewire. It doesn't come in the standard package but the adapters and cables are available.

My apologies if this is not what you are talking about. :)
