IPTV Buffering???

Does Cool Ideas throttle IPTV services?

UDATED - Do any ISP service providers throttle any IPTV services that are advertised all over the internet? I am considering subscribing.
We don't throttle any service, ironically we are recognised as the highest international performing ISP from Ookla.

I am with Afrihost and I am streaming Bull on Google TV and no buffering thus far since I started earlier. A bit of time for the program guides to load, but all else is good.

What is Bull?

This is Bull

A good watch if you like legal dramas.
Aha, well Google TV is different compared to what people dub "IPTV" as its a legal platform behind it :).

They also have loads of local infrastructure like the other larger players which is why their platforms actually function well.

Funny, I often watch SkySport streams supplied by my IPTV provider and it almost never buffers.

Maybe you just don't know how to find a good IPTV provider...
Well, they are also all illegal, so getting support for them is tricky.

Not for me. If I only want to watch rugby, I’m forced to buy the most expensive DStv package. In my opinion, DStv is exploiting its position as a monopoly. That’s why I have no issue finding an alternative. I might reconsider if DStv stops taking advantage of its monopoly on sports.

It is sad that people associate IPTV with being illegal activity. There are so many free and legal services like Google TV and Xiaomi TV+ (VPN needed in SA). I do not see using a VPN for these services as illegal as the content provided is free-to-air and alot of it is very old, as in from the 90's 80's 70's and even older.

IPTV is a system that delivers television content over the internet rather than through traditional methods like satellite or over-the-air broadcasting. There is nothing illegal about that.

Which is why I'm irritatingly deliberate about making this exact point on every IPTV thread.

The law isn't something we get to decide on what is legal and not, so technically, the service is illegal. I agree that there should be better local legal options but that just isn't the case.

Yes hence my quotes, if someone mentions a popular IPTV service, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube. Prime etc. They typically don't dub it "IPTV".

IPTV typically gets used when referring to an illegal IPTV aggregate of IPTV services.

Whether it is legal or not is beside the point. I don't have a moral issue with it, but if you do, then don't use their services.

I think this is only in SA though. People try to soften "pirate streams" by calling them IPTV instead of just calling them pirate streams.

Especially those that charge

I agree fully.

I feel the same about this nonsense about using a VPN to view stuff not available here, whether free or not, being illegal.

I originally got a VPN after reading Kevin Mitnick's Art of Invisibility to protect my privacy, the other stuff is just there. I won't go out of my way to get access to geo-blocked content. Google TV and Xiaomi TV+ is built into my Xiaomi MiBox and it activated automatically when after setting up the VPN on my router.

It's a public forum, and we are an ISP, so we need to make these things obviously clear. I don't use their services. It's got nothing to do with my morals.

Loads of people think certain pirate IPTV services are legal because they pay for them.
