Iran unveiled on Thursday a new drone, dubbed the Epic, capable of carrying out both surveillance and attack missions, the Mehr news agency reported.

Defence Minister General Ahmad Vahidi was quoted as saying the Epic, which can fly at high altitudes, is a "stealth aircraft that cannot be detected by enemies."

On April 18, Iran made public three other models,

The Throne, also a stealth model, has a long range and is equipped with air-to-air missiles, said General Amir-Farzad Esmaili, commander of anti-aircraft operations.

Esmaili said Iran had already produced and used dozens of them.

The Hazem-3 (Solid) and Mohajer-B (Migrator) are "tactical and combat" models and also capable of reconnaissance, the general said.

So the great drone war begins, now will iran be allowed to with impunity like the US?

I doubt it. Iran can use them to bomb american targets in afghanistan perhaps, iran could actually bomb syrian rebels as well because iran can claim they are terrorists surely?

Well SA Denel (Denel Dynamics) wants to sell an armed version of the Seeker 400 drone to Saudi Arabia, it is also reported that an intelligence organisation has confirmed that Denel was helping Saudi Arabia conducts its own secret national drone programme. Denel do not have to comment on its position on any sales to clients without their express consent. In the global eye this is seen as South Africa exporting killer drones. I would like to know should the Iran drone be based on the Seeker 400…

With the sanctions currently in place, i highly doubt denel are doing anything with iran, even without sanctions i doubt they supply iran with anything.

Denel did however (and this was denied through and through) supply middle eastern countries [other than say Saudi Arabia] with firearms that they produced. I can't remember the specific make/model now, but the US have banned importation of that firearm specifically because we let Osama have one.

The only reason for me mentioning this, should Denel be involved with Saudi Arabia in developing such technology in secrecy, then the probability exists for this technology to be available (from sources) in the Saudi Arabia and Iran territory.

But you are correct with the sanctions, even the United Arab Emirates could not purchase missile-firing drones from the United States as requests have been denied. Also not from China due to the China-Iran alliance and from Israel, thus turning to South Africa, not only to purchase but support in developing their own drone program.

Remember dude iran put a nuclear power plant online while sanctioned, they haven't been sanctioned over the nuclear issue for many years, only recently. Now if iran can put a nuclear plant online with sanctions i am sure a drones should be child's play.

They have been sanctioned since the 70's because the US can't let go and iran is unwilling to bow to the mighty US. So don't underestimate what they can do even if they are isolated.

I wonder if their drone is anything similar to their fake fighter jet, or maybe its something along the lines of their space programme?

They should have named them The Epic, The Game and the Throne.

They are welcome to try. Phone them and tell them to. I'd love to see the results.

There won't be results they can pick their targets with impunity bud. That is how it works isn't it? You said you were fine with one country having impunity but why not two countries dude? Why you only gonna trust one country to kill with impunity. Trust em all!!!!!!!! :D

US can't attack anyone for hitting them with a drone outside their own country since they are doing it. I see no reason why iran can't deem the CIA a terrorist organization and intercept those money bags in afghanistan and those arm deliveries to the syrian rebels. Why would that not be allowed? The US are meeting with terrorists. It would be amazing if the incoming arms from the US were intercepted by iranian drones hahahaha, can't cry foul because they would be considered to be supplying terrorists. Afghanistan would be the perfect place to hit american agents handing over bags of bills to the taiban to buy them off. Can't say anything, legitimate target and nobody needs to know if the event was as iran said it was either or the casualties f the explosion.

Once precedent is set....

Yea i would also love to see the US go to war with iran and bitch slap them like they bitch slapped afghanistan and iraq o wait. I think it's time the bitch slappers got a bit of their own medicine.

The only thing the Iranians will be hitting in the near future are their wives.
