yes, international servers are arse, when i connect to efnet with the local server (irc.ac.za) it connects fine and then lags till I time out, not cool, not cool at all

the thing is they obviously did something or are doing somethign that changed it from the one second to the next, if they could just warn us or say its gonna last x days/hours/minutes i'd probably be more at ease

IRC is disconnecting regularly, phoned thato at helpdesk - not that he/anyone will probably fix it - seems like for now one can just add IRC to the things via IBurst that 'sort of' work, sometimes..

Speeds are fine this evening, however I am also suffering with constant disconnections

i am having incredibly snappy net experience tonight with speed test that used to average at 400kbp to about 600kbps. had msn issues last night but nothing at all tonight... sometimes i wonder if this isnt a tower specific issue at times.

my speeds are cool but i ping out on irc, but for patches of 30 minutes its fine then it'll drop every 20 seconds for liek 10 minutes

Hmm. I had the same problem last night. Local sites timed out too (UNISA) - repeatedly. 3rd time they came right. IRC was laughable.

ICQ disconnected after every single message

Last night my ICQ disconnected after EACH and EVERY single message I sent!

I am so glad that the pain will be over once I get my ADSL line in a few weeks time!

WBS can stick their iBurst up in their ... you know what
