IS 4096kbps uncapped

Is anyone around here using this? I get their FUP and all that. I'd just like to get some personal experiences. I'd be nice to get some figures to see how much you'd have to DL before you get your star rating degraded.

/inb4 "IS uncapped is crap" and all that. I know there are better ISPs out there, but we're not planning on downloading much and we're going to be using the two concurrent connections.

After hours you will get full speed even if you have 1 star. Its unshaped until you are in the top 50% of users. There is no real way of telling unless you get a account at a ISp that tells you how much you have used and your star rating like http://www.propertiere.co.za/basic-uncapped

They tell you your star rating out of 5 1/5 being alot of usage and shaped and 5/5 being good very low usage and unshaped
 
Yeah, I know :) That's why I started this thread to get some info from people using the product (wouldn't be a lot of people, seeing as people on this forum know better than using an IS based uncapped product :D).

I'm just looking for a ballpark figure.
 
I think for your usage the account will be perfect.

Even if thats the amount I pushed this account to 550GB in one month to see what it can do, not downloading during the day so much. Its a epic account for its price.

so 8-5 its dead? weekend and after hours it max speed, might buy it, i am not at home between 8-5 :P
 
Well, for what little it is worth, I was on an IS account at OpenWeb for about a month and then I just couldn't take it any longer. Granted, it was a 384 account, but during the day webpages would take several minutes to open and the max download I could get was 3kb/s. When 5PM rolled around, websites loaded slightly faster and I could download at 12kb/s.

Not really hey. 8am is starts and is slowed to 60kbs or so. In the afternoons about 16:00 it starts to go full speed again. Whole weekend was full speed for me even if I had used so much already.

The R418 account is what i am talking about and is the only 1 I use. I am not sure about other providers but I'm sure it should be same. I buy that account as a once off if I really need to download some stuff in that month otherwise I just use my 1mb uncapped special from openweb.


Here is a link to my daily usage. This 1 is from last month. I don't have a screen to that 550 one cause I can't log in anymore since I cancelled it. They remove it after the 2nd month if its been cancelled.

If you look at the daily usage it quite impressive. In fact I didn't even download 24/7 as you can see. Some weekends I did gaming and stuff on my line too so consider all that its pretty impressive for a mere R418

Awesome, thanks cavedog. Was exactly what I was looking for! It seems IS uncapped isn't all that bad after all.
