Hi

I am considering moving my number to 8ta to enjoy their super affordable data.

I would like to know if 8ta has good really good coverage (coverage equivallent to vodacom and mtn).

Also, how do I go about moving my number and how much will it cost (i am a prepaid user).

thanks :)

The coverage is nowhere near as good as Vodacom or MTN, especially in smaller towns and rural areas. However, for voice service 8ta roams on MTN.

No, to many people complain about crappy reception and after sales service.

Simply not true..... Every person can not be pleased all the times so all companies have customers that is not happy so your post is simply you opinion. :-)

IMO, 8ta has the best network quality at the moment. But if you are travelling to small towns and outlying areas, MTN / Vodacom has better coverage.

I have a Samsung Tab 10.1 on 8ta network for 1 month now. I work and stay in the Weltevreden and Northcliff areas.

According to the Coverage on their website Weltevreden is fully covered. I get full H+ and 3G in that area, but it drops so often that doing a simple thing like posting on this forum is a problem.

For voice and standard bundle you will be roaming to MTN (at full speed) and you will have no access to 8ta network.

But if you want to use super affordable data, you have to convert your prepaid SIM to non-roaming. 8ta network only.

So before porting, get prepaid SIM and read above.
