Is anyone else mining? I'm a noob.

Once it goes above 0.001BTC unpaid. What is your BTC address? You can check its progress online

Is it safe to give out your BTC address?

I clicked on "check your stats online" -

Profitability

Unpaid balance

I do that all the time on my home PC that is mining

Lots of people have one in their sig ;)
But I see they changed their minimum payout again, so you'll need 0.01BTC

Ok so in essence, I can stop and start the miner whenever I am not gaming and just let it run? It will continue to mine and auto pay out each time I reach the minimum?

Only if you use this BTC address:

:D

Remember the fundamental principle of blockchain technology is that everything is transparent, so you can give out your address to whomever you want and all they can see is your transaction history for that specific address. What some people, including myself, do have a separate address for each service you use online; in fact you could go as far as to generate a new address for every transaction you perform.

What I then do is from all these services I generate some BTC from, I push the coins into another wallet of which the private key is stored offline at home.

For the wallet, is there a preference or major difference between Blockchain and Luno?

OK I have registered with Luno but can't seem to find my wallet address???

edit: is it accounts -> view account -> addresses?

Nope that is your address then, use that.

Perfect thanks.

Any settings I need to then change on Nice Hash Miner software or should I leave it all as default? Service location, advanced settings etc? Also under devices do I just choose to use GPU or both GPU and CPU?

Leave the CPU. It's unlikely to be profitable considering the low hash rate and extra power you'll use. Also makes your system a little more usable when you multitask mining with other tasks, ie browsing, etc.

Don't need to change anything on NH. But do note that typically you want high mem clocks and low GPU core clocks, change that via your overclocking software of choice

Any tips regarding what you mentioned about high mem clocks and low GPU?

Not necessarily. The R9 290 seems to do just as well with much slower memory clocks. I went from 1250 to 900 without it affecting my ethereum hash rate.
