Is anyone else mining? I'm a noob.

Any tips regarding what you mentioned about high mem clocks and low GPU?

It'll vary by card and model so I can't give exact numbers. Google is your friend here
On a GTX1070 though you're aiming to add 600 to mem clock, and 0 on core (though I've seen people go into negative numbers, my cards dont like that). Also set the power target to 70%, and then drop it by 2% until you see the hash rate going down. Lucky people get as low as 56%

Not necessarily. The R9 290 seems to do just as well with much slower memory clocks. I went from 1250 to 900 without it affecting my ethereum hash rate.

I've honestly not looked at anything besides latest gen GPUs, so again, people must do their own research for this

My 1050ti cards are happy with -15 core, +450 mem, -15 power. Less power I start dropping hash rates, and I suspect more mem will want more power.

Not to be funny, but can I suggest this thread be merged with the existing "Cryptocurrency Mining" thread?

OK so managed to find some settings:

Core Clock - 950MHz
Memory Clock - 1750MHz

Does that look good or should I change something else?

Have started running the software - do I just let it run now? A "cmd" type window opened and alot of text in white, purple and "turquoise" is running, is that correct (sorry for dumb question, first time doing this). Anything else I need to do or be concerned about etc?

Nope. Just let it go :)

You can click on "check my stats online" You will see your projected numbers there.

OK great.

When I click to check online, it says: Algorithm - DaggerHashimoto; is that correct? DOn't recall selecting any algorithm.

As far as I can tell, the benchmark defines the algorithms you run. So guessing it selected the algorithm best suited to your hardware. As mine is different.

What algorithm are you running? At the end of the day does it matter on the algorithm or not really?

Dam, just posted this in another thread, this thread wouldve been better:

Been reading online as to how to get started, but the return is actually very difficult to calculate.

Thinking of a 4x1060s set up and then joining a pool (seems to be recommended?). How could I calculate the potential return on investment? Probably differs per coin but lets assume to the top preferred Alt coins..

I assume its not worth trying to mine bitcoin?

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calc&name=

It shows $3.18 profit per card per day.
