Is iburst down?

I love how everyone just expects iburst customers to jump ship?

Telkom is impossible to use in my area, every time they replace the cables they get stolen a week later which then takes a month to replace, rinse and repeat for infinity

Some of us have spent a lot of money over the years of our iburst usage on modems and antenna's and that stuff is not compatible with any other company, so what am I supposed to do then? Just throw this **** away?

No one else has coverage for any other wireless services in my area, and 3g is damn expensive.

So yeah, iburst IS MY ONLY OPTION if I actually want to have internet that is on 90% of the time with speeds that I can live with.
When it works properly it is a decent service and I do not complain much.

But... when things do go wrong and we don't get told ANYTHING on these forums or twitter for 2 days. (The iburst reps actually seem to be around quite often when there isn't anything wrong, its almost like they are being told NOT to post/update us on anything here when there are problems happening within iburst) But then to top it off they LIE to us - the people that actually do use their products, you are gonna have quite a few people telling you that your service is crap and your company is incompetent, including me.

And some, like me, who want out of our contracts as a result of the crappy service and total lack of communication!!!

my status light is now green (working) but my internet connection light on my router is still red (off) .... I have tried to reset the router and the modem, but no luck with connection ... any suggestions ? Using a D-Link router for wi-fi

Same story here.
Light is green but modem cannot connect, tried both flat panel and omni again neither helps.

I am guessing its iTurds fault again...

Just ask for a refund everyday they are down, you are in your right as a consumer. For example when I had ADSL and the service was down, Telkom gladly refunded me everyday my ADSL service was down.

Stupid question but, considering core equipment was seized, is it possible ICASA has access to our personal e-mails?

iBurst working on my side, for now. I've noticed that it keeps killing out for a few minutes before reviving. The speeds I'm getting are extremely good when it's working, so I guess that could be considered a bonus? All the iBurst subscribers in my area are probably too annoyed to be using iBurst, so the base stations are all mine. Silver lining in the mushroom cloud.

Seems like more to the story, ICASA might have acted prematurely: http://www.techcentral.co.za/wbs-wins-interdict-against-icasa/39406/

Not necessarily: an urgent interdict is not a permanent resolution, or indeed an indication that ICASA is in the wrong, by any means. An interdict is just a legal instrument prohibiting the party interdicted from taking certain actions; and interdicts can be challenged, and can be overturned. An urgent interdict is often granted by a court to delay action potentially damaging to one of the parties to a matter, until the court can hear fuller argument at greater length, and reach a considered judgment. Unless there is some other activity as yet unreported (which is of course possible), the obtaining of an urgent interdict in and of itself most certainly does not mean that "The dispute between ICASA and the parent company of iBurst, WBS has been resolved". An urgent interdict does not indicate that the underlying issue has gone away, or that further legal proceedings could not result in renewed action by ICASA, so unless or until there are further proceedings, or emerges further detailed information about what exactly "has been resolved", how, and with what degree of permanency, there remains no certainty - and no cause for celebration - for iBurst's long-suffering customers.

Iburst is zooming now in alberton area. Well done ICASA you should take back ibust's equipment more often. Then we will get better speeds :D

Agreed, this is a temporary stay of execution until WBS/iBurst pay their outstanding licence fees ...

Can anybody log into the Iburst control panel? When I login I keep getting this error:

Can't login or check my emails. Only Internet.

Can't login or check my emails. Only Internet.

My client has got a prepaid iBurst account which has now run out of bandwidth since Thursday, and of course with the iBurst control panel being down he can't topup his bandwidth so he's sitting without a connection now. Doesn't make me or iBurst look very good.

I'm having a problem in Pretoria East. The iBurst modem is okay, but the connection fails at authentication. Arrrggghhhhh.

Same here, seems like not a day goes by without a connection black-out,frequent disconnects , slow speeds, and, to top it all, they now seem to block all torrent traffic when there is a connection. Really, what's the use of having the account anyway, if you can't use it?

Regular disconnects here too - it's being reported from all over the country, so clearly a network and not a localized issue. The blocks on certain sites and kinds of traffic could be a consequence of iBurst's attempts to route around the lost connections, and so encountering blocks imposed by ISPs or authorities in the places our connections are routing through.

Can anybody log into the Iburst control panel?

Not I: it seems they have the bare bones of their webpages up, but not their account management system (or email - for that I go on the reports of others, as my iBurst connection is via M-Web, dating from the days when they were a reseller, so I'm not reliant on iB for that).
