Goodmorning friends,

It appears as if IS has lost all international connectivity.

I have not yet had a report of what the problem is, but will keep this thread updated as soon as news comes in.

For OpenWeb clients that require urgent international connectivity, please email me: [email protected] and I will arrange a temporary account for you on our VPN.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Yep, seitched back to my SAIX account. Seems to have been up and down for the last few days.

Could it be weather related - JHB is very cloudy today, and IS has a sat link?

I just received this in my inbox at work.... seems to explain what's going on...

Subject: [IS Alert 1-141329016 @ 3-1-2006 06:53] Major degradation of IS International Satellite Access Service.

We are currently experiencing a Major degradation of IS International Satellite Access Service at our Rosebank, Roaring Creek and Bryanston PoPs. This is due to bad weather conditions at the satellite base station.

Regards

The IS Ops Team.

Strange. It's down here in KZN as well.

How . . . irritating. I had website updating to do.

That is exactly why my primary account is IS and I have a backup SAIX account - costs a few bucks more per month, but considering how often I have to use it, well worth it. (Simply using SAIX only is no option, as it is more unreliable tahn IS)

woohoo back online again, ahhhh sweet international
