Is it possible to have two "flu's" at the same time?

Hey guys, not really sure what's going on with me, I seem to have gotten some form of back to back sickness, or perhaps once long sickness?

I went to the dr two weeks ago and he diagnosed me with Pharyngitis, and he asked me if I was coughing etc. But it was pretty mild then, like it was just starting out. Then 2-3 days later it was a lot worse and I had a lot of plegm and lying down was horrible, woke up all the time just coughing and feeling like I can't breathe etc. Anyways he put me on anti biotics which I finished, and I seemed to get better, but around day 5 of the anti biotics I started feeling more 'traditional' flu like symtoms, achy body, running nose (but also congested lol) and that seemed to just persist to where I'm now sick since Wednesday two weeks ago.

It's more frustrating than anything all I've been doing is sleeping and taking Corenza C. I thought anti biotics would help me, but now I feel like my body just got attacked by something else.

Super weird, usually I can shake these things in a few days, but guess not this time.
 
Maybe post COVID all the other viruses are getting back to business. But if you have kids around this is just normal life.

Virology top tip incoming... antibiotics have no effect on flu or on any other viral infection (including colds).

One can get Covid,RSV and Flu simultaneously - and it's not fun
 
Short answer: NO

Long answer: You can have two different flu viruses at the same time, but it's essentially like putting a humidifier & dehumidifier on in the same room -at the end of the day...there can be only one...

I've actually wondered about this, i've heard it before but every dr presrcibes it and idk why

but yoss, im doin **** rn, im going back to doctor tomorrow, my body aches like a mofo and im hot, but thats tolerable, what gets me is my lungs are so sore fak
 
There can be many reasons for this:

1) Its possible you picked up a drug resistant bug. So the antibiotics will "suppress it" but as soon as you stop it will be back. Go back to your Dr for a proper diagnosis and tell your Dr to rotate the class of antibiotic. They will understand. I suspect you were prescribed either augmentin or zithromax (I recommend avoiding these for a couple of years). These antibiotics were extensively used during covid and hence the resistance profile for them is quite high. Rather use tavanic if you qualify for it.

2) Its not flu coupled with secondary infection - but rather something worse i.e covid, TB

3) Your upper respiratory tract is still inflammed from the infection and is clearing out debris. This can happen with bronchitis etc and can take up to 180 days to clear as its severity decreases

either way you have to go back to your Dr.

Given the damage that Covid does to the lymphocytes basically giving you a form of AIDS,coupled with reduced mask usage leading to a surge of RSV cases,flu's kind of the least noticeable part in the threeway cluster****

My kid recently had the RSV and Flu combo and that was pretty ****
