is anyone getting a decent transfer rate from the news.is.co.za server. I am getting a rate of 2kbs - it blows.

Has been like this for the last 2-3 days. Int'l is also slow. `It blows' sums things up nicely.

pretty much the same happening here...on both news.is.co.za and news.isdsl.net getting a lovely 1-2kb/s.

surely someone must know what's happening with the news server....anyone???

how can you get 40k and no one else is getting more than a few k? how can that be? anyone else going at full speed?

that's crazy. mines as dead as a door nail. Interesting to know that it's not a matter of all or nothing, some people are lucky and some aren't. without news groups I ain't a happy camper.

Just checked properly now, although its showing 40k I aint getting any files, so not sure why its even showing 40k, getting lots of error messages

160kb/s since 4ish but was doing 320ish for about 2hours before that

must be the janitor who is the server admin, anyone know who is the news server admin,his house address, surname, cellnum? lol

I think IS is throttling access to the news server. Everything is up and running connectivity wise and several calls earlier today all came back with "no problems on our network"
