IS News Server down?

I'm getting something that's not cached locally - going at a whole 1.5K. Tried something that is cached locally - went at a whole 3K.

Hence my suspicion
 
They couldn't have set the throttle up to something like 5KB at least? I've been trying to download 273MB for the last 5 days.

This really, really sucks...
 
i got a wonderful 15MB during the night when i was sleeping....wonder how much i will get today while I am at work.
 
done 9gigs since yesterday 1pm, getting 60kb/s at the moment but, im still p!ssed as i upgraded to 4mbit to get 4mbit speeds,not even getting 1mbit speeds at the moment. Think i might be downgrading to 512, best option available for the price.
 
The news.isdsl is pinging to a new IP. Iv never seen it on this IP address before. (192.35.123.198)
 
Do the news.is.co.za and the news.isdsl.net contain the same groups. Are they mirror copies.?

I used news.is.co.za up to now. But it is dead. The new IP on news.isdsl.co.za seems to be a making a differnce. I am getting 15 kbs - not what it used to be, but better than dead. On a 4mb line.
 
Sorry for sounding naive but how much exactly is this SAIX account everyone is referring to per gig?

+- 100kbs peaking up to 150kbs.
 
Well im downloading at that speed, but i dont think i can call it downloading, cause its munching up my cap yet, none of my files are completing. Its almost as if its downloading rubbish data... :/
 
lol, its because im white hey? ;) Well, i did finish the first season of invasion and got the new prison break 2day, so i am guilty...
