Recently upgraded to LG C1 and Denon 2700AVR.

Both have Dolby atmos and Dolby vision.

Great im all set with my new 5.1.2 speakers.

Right? RIGHT?

I use plex to stream from my pc to the tv. As it turns out the plex app on the LG tv doesn't support higher than 5.1 Atmos. When you play higher channel audio, plex transcodes so you lose the roof channels.

From what i have read it looks like the options are Nvidia Shield or even an xbox one.

I can confirm that my old xbox one s is able to directplay any audio i can throw at it without it being transcoded via plex. The AVR picks up 7.1 audio, truehd etc. And the roof speakers fire correctly

Thoughts? Should I wait for a newer shield with hdmi 2.1?

Still the best. Nothing better out there.

I just need to upgrade my PC and my TV one day to something that supports DV. My Shield does but neither my PC nor my TV supports it, so I cannot watch it at all.

Get an LG C1. dont bother with anything else or you will be highly disappointed.

I think it is not a bad idea. R43k for the 65" is not too bad. Will probably be my next purchase sometime this year.

Tell him about oversaturated and unnaturally Samsung colours!

Oh yes, How could i forget to warn him about that. @rvZA Dont even consider a samsung, They make terrible tvs, No dolby vision and oh boy the colors are way off reference, Over saturation galore with neon reds and greens. This cant be calibrated out, Film maker mode still off with colors so there is no running away from them. Not to mention the TVs themselves feel cheap compared to the glorious and Mighty LG C1 which feels like it was made from titanium. People who buy samsung tvs are ANC voters, they never learn and i guess they enjoy feeling ripped off.

You forgot how the settings do nothing! Them him that!

You think you can toggle saturation & contrast- but they’re not linked and don’t work!
