Seen a Skyworth the other day, that had a very creditable picture - but then the material may have been hand picked to show it at it's "best" ... , but I would have taken a soundbar to improve it's audio.

To be honest, the top end Hisense, was very good as well, the LG won out by a very small margin. The cheaper Hisense panels where not as good. On par with the Skyworth or Samsung. Which one you choose depends on your preference, and lighting conditions in your room.
Having grow up with a Sony Trinitron, I tend to appreciate a warmer colour balance.
But can live with anything that provides a good, sharp stable picture, being on the wrong side of 60, might have something to do with that as well.

For sure.
I wanted to get something with Disney+ Atmos and it was a toss up with Nvidia & Apple. Wasn't sure if the Shield did it or not thuogh
At the end of the day I did prefer the Apple at the price

Very happy with my Nvidia Shield Pro, and no issues with my Fire TV 4K MAX stick, or the Xiaomi Mi 4K TV Streaming Stick, in the lounge. Not a Apple fan, but they do make good stuff.

If you had a tv with dolby then you would see the dolby logo popping up. But since you have a tv that cant produce the required nits you wont get any dV or atmos. Invest in an LG C1 before buying your surround.
