Is rain only available on LTE A?

I am using the Huawei E5577. My signal strength is usually only 1 to 2 bars. @cavedog can you perhaps recommend a good router for the rain network?

Well the B618 is a good router as it has 4x4 mimo and can be forced to B3 or B38 but unfortunately can't be combined to give LTE-A. So a B618 is a decent option but I think the best one would be the one that can do B3 + B38 aggregation and I don't know which one that is.

B618 is good. Got mine set at 2600. Seems to be the fastest.

I think the e5186s-22a might be a winner?

LTE:
FDD 2600/2100/1800/900/800 MHz
FDD DL CA 1800 MHz + 2600 MHz, 1800 MHz + 800
MHz, 2600 MHz + 800 MHz, 1800 MHz intra-band
contiguous, 2600 MHz intra-band contiguous
TDD 2600 MHz
TDD DL CA 2600 MHz intra-band contiguous

LTE:
FDD 2600/2100/1800/900/800 MHz
FDD DL CA 1800 MHz + 2600 MHz, 1800 MHz + 800
MHz, 2600 MHz + 800 MHz, 1800 MHz intra-band
contiguous, 2600 MHz intra-band contiguous
TDD 2600 MHz
TDD DL CA 2600 MHz intra-band contiguous

Unfortunately not. That is 2 x FDD bands aggregated. FDD has band 7 running on 2600MHz. Most if not all LTE-A routers including the B618 supports FDD intra and inter band non-contiguous and contiguous. The problem comes with FDD and TDD interband non-contiguous where spectrum bands from FDD are aggregated with spectrum bands from TDD. It's complicated setups and requires a lot of things to happen for it to work so it does not get widely supported. There is only 1 country in the world that I could find that runs B3 + B38 aggregation and that is MTC in Russia.

Routers mostly supports FDD+FDD and TDD+TDD types of aggregation like Telkom with 2 x B40 TDD spectrum aggregated and Cellc,Vodacom and MTN with B3+B1 FDD aggregation. MTN and Vodacom also have 3CA with B1+B3+B8 FDD aggregation. The technology is there but I think the lack of demand for these types of aggregation combinations is the cause for no devices that support it.

That is where I commend Samsung with their LTE chip. Supports almost every possible aggregation combination in their supported LTE bands and multiple aggregration starting with 3CA and upwards.
