Is Rain really LTE-A?

Yeah and webafrica is no longer supplying the B618 router too. Very interesting now charging R199 sim and delivery and R1400 for the B315 router.

Now that is just wow. The B315 cash from Telkom stores with a Huawei backup battery is selling cash for R1300 :erm:

Rollercoaster ride :) Lucky for those who got the B618 for free.

I have 2. 1 from Afrihost on the day the launched the free router and one from Webafrica when they launched the free router :D

Morning

How can we check if it is LTE-A, i do have a B618 device.

Anybody knows, there are differences versus B315. (on B315 you can toggle between 1800 and 2300Mhz). Also to mention no LTE-A setup on B315.
All LTE setups.

So could it be the case that they have very little spectrum and so that is why speeds are so low? I remember MTN 4g always used to be very slow until they assigned more spectrum. So with the B618 it can use 2 bands of limited spectrum to achieve higher speeds?

Rain runs in band 3 and 38. You can check that on the google LTE chart

RAIN ISP told me that about 2months ago (when I was looking for an external antenna)

Is there any way to change the tower the modem is connected to?
Yes, if you give your co-ords to rain they will tell you the nearest tower. Network Settings Huawei B315, Manual will list all towers...
