Is Telkom clueless about its own services?

I made the same enquiry at a Telkom Direct Shop yesterday and was informed that it was not available as they could no longer select the product on their online menu.

This would be because of LLU, spcificaly Naked ADSL. How can they claim that we must pay R135pm copper tax when they can offer a prepaid line at ~R10pm?

Their solution is to try and sweep this product under the rug. Not buying it Telscum, give us Naked ADSL. Waya Waya proves that your copper line rental is simply extortion.

Waya waya lines may or may not be available off their menu but they are still in service. The waya waya lines prove Telkom discriminates against its customers surely?

Why go for telkom prepaid where Neotel prepaid phone is far beter. No monthly rentel cheaper call rates and per seconds billing, and it can also go on the internet at 128kbps at 0.20 if you have to

They could argue that it works off totally different technical and billing platforms. iirc Telkom was the first operator world-wide to offer prepaid service on a fixed line network (1998?).

Dunno whose worse; the Telkom direct shops or their call centers?
They should have an annual competition & promote the winners into Icasa!

Phoned new services today to apply for Waya-waya. They say yes you can get it. Put me through to prepaid who said I can't get it.

Clueless? Income earning divisions like Telkom and SARS should never be underestimated ;)
