Is that RAM causing this?

LOL, Edge is pretty good. Way better than I thought. Plus it does hardware acceleration without f...kin up.
Crap in many aspects. I would rather suspect that Edge is not using hardware alleleration despite of advertising.

XMP changes so many voltages and other stupid stuff , turn xmp off and see if it still happens
In fact make sure all the voltages are set at normal in the bios, then test.
Then if you want your ram to run at the higher rate, change only its voltage in the bios.

I forgot to say messing with the voltages and the internal gpu's does some funny stuff, I'm assuming this is the internal GPU

Edge is using hardware accelartion and it is much faster than Chrome. That said, it has many down side. On being that if you open too many tabs to myBB it just won't show.

It also does not distinguish between a In Private and normal tab having a red notification dot. You can have two instances of Android messages open and it you get a SMS on the normal on then the In Private tab will also show a red dot, despite that instance not having a new SMS in months.

Still, Edge works well and I am keen to give it a try, despite writing this post on Chrome because myBB won't open in Edge.

Lekker man....

Still using chrome for downloads as the download manager in Edge is not on par yet.

Did you try what I said?

Yes, I completely switched off XMP so that everything runs stock speed and stock voltage - same thing happens. Seeing as this does not happen in Edge I am quite sure it is not hardware. Might have to give Firepox a try.

You see that small repeating background pattern? That seems to be the trigger.

Been using Firepox for the last day, also no issues, media.wmf.dxva.d3d11.enabled is on so it is using hardware acceleration.

/Touch wood
Seems it was drivers/BIOS/software after all. Newest Chrome, new BIOS and latest drivers - have not seen this issue occur again. The CPU also hits new low temperature, got 16'C thus far.

Air cooler?
There is no way your cpu will run cooler on air than your ambient temp. Software you use might report bogus or your temp node within cpu is buggered.

Could be, it was a crappy AM1 APU. Then again what is now my office used to be the garage to maybe in the early hours of the morning it was that cold.
