thanx 4 all the replies, much appreciated! Just hav 2 mre questions.

Whats the sata for and does the rewind function only start working the moment u select a channe5, thats with live tv.
SATA, USB & ethernet are all "for future use"
They are planning to use the ethernet to share recordings across PVRs & for IPTV, still a while away though

I assume you are referring to the buffer, whenever you change a channel or go into the interactive services the buffer resets so you can only rewind the time you have been on a single channel

What does OKNL on channel 170 mean?
Where do you see that

When I change to channel 170 the channel name says 170 - OKNL - I get black screen and then press channel up to get a picture. Its weird, need to call DSTV

Weird, should be "170 MntHD"
Do a rescan via advanced options in the menu, it should sort it out

It's funny, since I had a brad new dish installed, I have yet to experience any loss, even when it's pouring. So, I'm thinking my last dish was part of the problem too.

The bigger the dish the less weather effects the feed, for HD a 90cm minimum is recommended. I'm using a 60cm for mine & i dont have any problems but then again i dont live in Cape Town :p

So my HD ready 42inch Pvision plasma doesn't have an HDMI slot. Every other bloody slot but HDMI. Am I unable to use HD PVR with this set then?
