Is this Worth buying???

yeah fair enough peterch you're right.

Ok for my money R4500 is ok for this laptop. DV6000's can be faulty but they have good screens and the hardware isn't bad. But couldn't you rather get a desktop? Do you really need a lappy?

i do need one as i am in I.T and need something to travel with......my desktop is not grand...just use it for music, movies & Internet. selling it wouldn't even get me much

2.8Ghz HT
1gig Ram
160 Gig Hdd

I have a DV6000, I am very happy with it. The OP price and spec is not worth it. You can get a better new laptop for just a little more....

The best advice you will ever receive is to never buy a second hand laptop :p

did u ever have any problems with it? and how long do u have it for? why do u say its not worth it?

That's a decent price for the laptop, it's got a decent spec, but laptops do fail, I read somewhere that 30% of laptops fail in the first 2 years of their life. So if you can get a guarantee try to get that.

I have had my notebook for around three years now and have had no problems. Why I think it is a bad buy:

1. When I bough my notebook, the notebook advertised was around R7000, so the price is too high (I stand under correction and the original purchase price may have been higher).
2. A new notebook, spec below, will set you back around R5250 - brand new.
3. The advert is written to sell, and makes several statements that should be taken with a pinch of salt. All the "best this", and "!!!!" makes me suspicious.

Really would not buy it....

6735s AMD Athlon Dual Core QL-62 2.0-GHz 15.4 WXGA 160 GB 5400rpm 1024MB DDR2 800MHz 1DIMM LightSribe DVD+/-RW DL - Fixed Broadcom 802.11 b/g mini-pci card NO Bluetooth Windows Vista HOME Basic + Office 2007 Ready 1~1~0 Standard HP Carry Bag included in the box

yeah true....and harddrives are Expensive....but i have a 500gig External so it wont be that bad....
Dami wish i found about that earlier :-(.....i hope that doesnt happen to mine.....How much did it cost to fix or did they replace the motherboard?
Did you already buy it?

HiFi has that on special for R4999....

I also have the said notebook which I have had for 2 and half years or so, I think I paid R11k for it, the spec is as per advert, except I have a 120G HD.

I have heard of all the reported problems with the model, but have had no issues with mine. Granted, it's not used that heavily but it has served me well.

Way too much emo in that advert, plus all the CAPS, but checking the sellers' other ads, it looks like that's the way he/she/it does it.
