Hey, my mate is selling a 500Gig Seagate Sata and a coolermaster Xcraft 360 lite External Casing (Both bout a year old) For R600.00

I personally have my reservations about buying a second-hand hard drive... ;)

But the price isn't too bad.

I'd grab it! It's a great deal. You're saving at least 60%. I've bought two second hand drives from strangers with no problem, and your's is from a friend so it should be no problem.

I have never ever bought a second hand hard drive. I did get one as a gift from a friend once... it died a few months later.

Not a bad price, although I'd becareful of a second hand hd if i were you

I would spend a few more bob and get yourself a brand spanking new one.
If one buys the same gear new then its going to cost quite a lot more.

500gb from pcint = R823.08
Casing = Another R300-500

So you'd be looking at ~ 2x the price just to get some peace of mind.

Its still got 4 years of warranty left anyway.:D

Good risk imo.

If its from who I think it is I reckon its a safe bet.

Yeah i guess it is a quite a bit more if you buying new, so go for it! As mentioned you still got 4 years on the warranty ;)

Actually cost from a reseller is just below that :)
:confused: Fell-of-a-truck-serial-number-filed-off resellers?

If you can get anywhere near that price then I'd be seriously interested. I doubt anyone can get go more than 10% below pcint prices....nevermind half pcint prices.
