If I had purchased my R80 steak, with the purpose of braaing that meat, then I would expect that the meat be properly sealed on a hot fire and then heated quickly to medium-rare, and then removed and immediately eaten while still fire-hot.
I would be extremely upset if somebody threw it in a microwave and completely ruined the sealing-in process.
But, chicken, you actually need a different fire for chicken, a meat fire is not a good fire for the slow-cooking requirement of chicken. I would have no problem with nuking chicken, but, then again, that's not braaing, and the chicken loses the opportunity to develop that deep smoked taste.
Side note: Why on earth do people insist on bringing chicken kebabs to a braai? They're absolutely impossible to turn. If I end up forced to braai somebody else's kebabs, unfortunately, somehow, at least 70% of the floppy meat on a stick is going to either end up in the fire or donated to the braai committee.
Another BIG NO NO.
Don't ever braai someone else's meat. If you are the host you provide the braai and the fire. You don't even braai someone else's meat. Unless it's a female ofc and she asks you. Or if you provide all the meat.
That is the only 2 exclusions
What happened to our braai tradition? No one know the rules anymore?
