is virgin still the cheapest

On prepaid, yes, Virgin is the cheapest. With gogga you have to take out a 24 month contract, And it seems more or less the same as Voda and MTN data bundles.

I spoke to someone yesterday who was on iBurst and was paying R600pm for 3Gig.

I have not verified it.

True but I find Virgin the most unreliable out of all 3 I've tried, at the moment I'm avoiding it for my sanity.

I do exactly the same. Depending on reliability and freeness of the vlive! APN. I'd definitelly say VM is more reliable than Vodacom, though.

Why would you want to pay 4 times as much for a tiny increase in speed? EDGE really isn't that much slower than 3G, especially on Vodacom.

In my opinion, VM EDGE is actually just as fast as Vodacom 3G.

I don't know how hard my download manager was lying to me but I downloaded a PDF File and the speed was 20-35(Max).

I don't think that is physically possible on EDGE is it?
