Is your Free Anti-Virus Program a Resource Pig?

From my own benchmark, AVG once removed what was technically HIV from my computer. This virus killed my AV and prevented any AV installs. From then on it's been AVG for me, regardless of what PCMAG says. Have seen Kaspersky at work too, runs smooth.

And no-one has yet posted the customary "Windows is a virus" troll-roll yet? Amazing!.

LOL too true!!

Had the same experience with AVG on a couple of occasions.

Well I use avast, but it runs pretty smooth for me.Plus it quite low maintenance.

I use MSE and i havent had any problems on my home pc since i started using it. The first level of protection is the user. Use common sense and a good AV and you will be fine

How topical. So today my cuzzie calls and tunes me that his AV (Kaspersky) sucks arse and he needs to replace it. Bing bing. Let's see - will I go with my std Clam or will I use MSE?

Ever since Microsoft woke up and smelt the coffee, they seem to be much more serious and much more humble. They can't afford to mess up with MSE and lose more 'security' credibility, and besides, they know Windows inside out, so I think MSE is a pretty good choice.
