Is your Spotify regularly "pausing" itself? The problem is fixable, let Spotify know!

Happens to me all the time, but just on my Google home speaker.

I also have this issue, all devices cabled into 100Mbps fibre so should not be network issues, also thought it was internet issue.

FYI, using a VPN fixes this problem.
But then Google makes me fill out a captcha every time I want to do a search . Spotify should ensure that their partner fixes this, not have us use a VPN for a service that is locally available.

What VPN server did you use? When I tried it I used an SA server so it was not any better.

I had this issue with a podcast twice. It just stops and then the show is not even on my recently played list.
When I find the episode again it is reset to the beginning.

This is not convicting me to move over from Google podcast.

Paid for VPN, and also, if I connect to ZA via VPN the problem occurs with Spotify.
Additionally, the captchas thing happens with dodgy VPN providers

Use a proper VPN with split tunneling then you can bypass whitelist Google.

I haven't had any issues on Spotify via Cool Ideas in Cape Town since CISP spoke to them i stream every day and never had any buffering, streaming currently and my traffic is coming from 2.16.199.49 which is Akamai direct

Just changed to a "new" song and IP changed to 95.100.108.64 and its Akamai direct as well

Press "Me Too" here:

Basically, the issue is that some of the local servers (operated by an organisation called "Akamai") that Spotify uses are problematic, as a customer of Akamai, Spotify can from their side ask Akamai to look into this problem, see more context here:

It seems that Akamai is ignoring requests from ISPs, so pressure from Spotify's side would help:
Also depends how its connected because resellers of Akamai were hit with notices about ownership changes and migrations. Could be related to that.

I wouldn't consider PIA dodgy, but anyway I'm not paying an extra R100 per month so that Spotify functions as it should. If I can replicate the playlists in YouTube music then I can save money since I am paying for that as part of ad free YouTube.
