The gyser control timer is on but the RED button is never on since last suturday. We survive by pressing the override button which last for an hour just to get bath water. I have Switched the power on and off and have done the program select but nothing works. Please kindly assist with simple instructions.

I have the same issue. You manage to sort this out?

I have not had hot water since load shedding started from last week Wednesday. The Main on green light stays on. The geyser red light flashes and changes colour between green & red all the time and programe select flashes blue continuously. The override button is also ‘disabled’. I’ve tried changing between the programs but still nothing & no hot water as well for the past 5days going for 6!!

Mine caught fire randomly overnight:ROFL: Lights on from the front but No electricity going to the geyser.

Just get rid of it. Rubbish construction clearly.
You might find a burning smell close to it.

I don't know why anyone bothers with these geyser timers. I haven't seen any convincing evidence that they save you money.

Maybe the thermostat or element on the geyser isnt working anymore. If its been this long, call out a plumber to check. Your insurance might even cover it.

Thanks RudderVator, was there anything wrong with your actual geyser or just the timer?

Geyser was absolutely fine.
The timer just burned and failed with no warning.

From the research I obtained online the switches collect carbon inside on them from the repeated switches everyday.

This in turn causes the switch inside to make a weak contact after many years of wear and this leads to the switch overheating and melting from the poor connection.

They 100% save money - but as the family get's larger with more random showers / dishes / water use ... then there may little point .

When I was single, stuck to routine and the only occupant in my house, it used to save a large percentage of my bill. Now that there was 5 of us, the saving isn't nearly as great

What was your routine?

It doesn't have the load capacity to work continuesly I have mine on a 40 amp contactor switching on the geyser and haven't had a failure in 4 years

Only saw this now .

Can't remember the exact times - but something like on for 2hrs morning / 2 hrs night .

In other words perfect for me as there was no one at home in the day anyhow and I didn't take random showers or need random hot water in the day
