Definitely have their place - for us with a solar geyser I have the option to micromanage the on/off times and temperatures across a range of times per day - with different settings per day. Probably save R500 a month or more because of it.

wait until it sets your house on fire my friend!!!! these things are dangerous I had two fitted, one for each 150L Kwikot geysers. fitted for free during the ethekwini municipality (Durban) attempt too save electricity. both flamed out the side of the unit. first one 2022 and the second this week. After opening up they both had the same issue. Blew out the NT90RNAE24CB DC24V 40A Power Relay causing flames in the DB board. Luckly I was in when this happened and managed to damage control. Should be able to sue these assholes for recommending and fitting equipment not fit for purpose. usual story when incompetence is allowed and even encouraged in SOE's. Bin them if you havent already!!!

Mine also caught fire. Use a CBi astute now. Works great with Wi-Fi.
