ISnewserver Blazing speeds !!!

@sabagamma I already did just that. I cancelled all my IS accounts with WA. I stated "Bad service" as the reason. But I am pretty sure that this wont even have any effect on IS’s pocket. You need mass action. Mass action I don’t see happening. It’s just not a viable option for most.

I don't think he's talking about his own downloads.

btw, aren't these speeds being referred to mostly the uncached content? Would cached downloads still be going at full speed?

quite right sir.

i think next time i should include <sarcasm> tags

I meant I don't see the benefit in anybody broadcasting their downloads across a public forum.. this seems to be the definition of sharing here.

Anyhow, your previous post was correct.. there is more to life :p Off..

Good for you for canceling. Look, you wont see the effect of your and my cancellation tomorrow but you will see the effect in the future if more and more people cancel their accounts.

Broadband in SA is highly uncompetitive, that is a fact that no one can get away from. However market forces are still in play, Sentech went bust thanks to their terrible service, IBurst is going the way of Sentech. The SAIX news server is better than the IS one by a mile - but this is a recent development.

Why? Because who wanted a useless local SAIX account when you could get an IS account that actually did something. Now the pendulum is swinging away from IS and back towards SAIX. It is happening slowly (this is Africa) but it is happening.

the cost premium i suppose is the reason why the other works fairly well
