isolating networks behind dslrouter

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to have different ip ranges on the same network using the same router for internet acces. The reason for this is so that the different networks don't mess around on each others computers.

Can you configure something in the static routing function of the router to be used by the different networks?

I am using a SMC Barricade.

The stock answer is yes, but how to do it depends on the features/functionality of your router. Remember that this is essentially the primary purpose of a router - the inter-connection of networks. I don't have an SMC Barricade, so can't unfortunately help further, but I'm sure other members of this forum will oblige...

I don't really understand the basics of routing.

What it has is options for static routes. Under that there is place for network address, subnet and gateway.

There is also place for RIP?

I'm not trying to be funny here, but you do need to do some reading. It will not help you to be merely spoon-fed with the solutions to fix your connectivity issues - that's the kind of thing you get, if you're willing to pay for the service (which this forum does not officially offer, regarding your problem). I doubt also that any forum member will help - such generosity you will only find in purely altruistic forums, with a common objective to which members are absolutely committed. This forum is, however, dedicated to service issues regarding Telkom's ADSL offering - granted, related matters are indeed discussed, but training is, in my opinion, not one of them.
