Hi there,

Does anybody use SAINET internet ? of so have you noticed any billing discrepencies? I know their 6 gig data bundle costs 249.00 but i have noticed a billing of 354.00 so i am not sure if this is a mistake or if it is time to change ISP.

I have queried it , however.

Well , thanks.

We use SAINET for the 3Gb/384K package and haven't had any reason to complain about the billing. Are you sure that you don't possibly have the FlexiBill (automatic topup) option enabled perhaps?

SAINET ... lol
Loved them till a few minutes ago. Hate their guts at the moment.

Fee structure:
Cap ; OLD Price ; Seemingly NEW Price
01GB R049 R059
02GB R079 R118
03GB R139 R177
04GB R189 R236
06GB R249 R354
10GB R449 R590

Quick stats: +- 30% Hike all over the show. How nice of them hey? All this without 1 call/sms/email/letter. It just appeared on their site. I hope for their part that there is a slipup somewhere. Anyone being charged these NEW fees yet?

/me heads off to fire off a flame email. They are making me look bad in front of my clients for crying out loud. Here I go recommending the R79pm package, how do you think it is going to look if they all of a sudden get charged R118pm?

I could go on like this forever

Time to sign up with the best ISP there is bro :p ;) :D

That is simply NOT the correct business and I am really expecting that price to be only for new clients.

Then buy more Gigs! :D ;) :p

I'm just a student you know, not a millionaire ;)

How you been dude?

Do you really want to know?

+1 It is totally unprofessional for them to do this. I just need to get my bank statements asap to see what is going on there so that I can let my clients know as well - time to move to a new provider if these new prices are here to stay.

Seems like they implemented some type of "Unused data carry-over up to 100%" all of a sudden. That would explain the higher rates seeing as bandwidth roll over and would hence be more $$$.

But who said I/Everyone wanted that 'feature'?

I'd say even for new clients it's the suck :p

It is the suck for everyone indeed. Higher prices always suck.

I'm also not impressed...Have a look at my forum discussion last month with them.

Thx, this is all I needed to hear:

Sainet representative response:

Sainet changed product and price structures. The prices refer to Data Carry Over products.

Existing Subscribers wil be given the option to migrate - we will not increase current subscriber ADSL access service prices without reason. We also expect prices to come down with all the landscape changes, hence the steps in that direction to allow Data Carry Over.

BTW - Our data carry over prices compare favourably with other ISP prices - with the added feature of Data Carry Over (see http://www.sainet.co.za).

Regards
Sainet Admin

:D

Now I just need to check if they are still charging me the old prices...

Sainet Company Respond

Hi All,

Here's the Company's point of view:

1. Yes our service model changed due to Data roll over capabilities - anyone else offering this at the rates we pose? In the past we were called thieves when subscribers lost their remainder cap?
2. We honor current subscriber's products and services.
3. Any other company dared to sell ADSL under cost for 2 years? - yes every Gig we sold cost us more than we charged.
4. Rather see value in data carry over - that's what many forum subscriber's have been asking for on forums like this one.
5. Please see the value and efforts we create to offer better services.

I don't think you actually addressed the bigger issue here.

The change in pricing was, as previously pointed out, not communicated to your clients. THIS is why they are quite miffed at you. (In this thread anyway =P )

It sounds as if the price-change only applies to folks who use their "carry over" facility, correct? If so, Sainet remains my ISP of choice. However, if there is a 30% subscription increase for regular "fixed cap" subscribers, which was not communicated well in advance, then I'm jumping ship. And I'll be urging my friends who joined Sainet on my recommendation, to do the same. If the costs start approaching the other ISP's who offer better support options, it's hardly worth staying on.

I agree - I am also with them and have no regard for lack of communication with issues, especially when they are as important as a price increase.

I mailed them today and was assured that regular DSL subscriptions would not be increased. The increased prices only apply to the "data carryover" offerings and the FlexiBill option. I think they're trying to punt these, which is why the usual packages aren't easily seen on their site.

What is Sainet up to now? Why can't both my PCs connect to the same account anymore - like always? Seems like they cut the concurrent connections to 1 since Jan '09 ...

I've just cancelled my SAINET account. Very unprofessional to increase the price without informing me. I've also been very suspicious about my cap usage stats. I'm going back to WA
