Hi Guys, thought I would share my experience here as I am sure many are looking for reliable fiber providers.

Line: 20 mbps 10GB capped fiber for R549 using Telkom Fiber.

Data: 200Gb capped Afrihost with Afrihost+ which doubles data making it 400gb daily data and uncapped from midnight to 6 am. Also with Afrihost+ if you use all your capped your account wont stop it will just slow down to 10% of your line speed which is nice. R400 for data + R100 for Afrihost+.

Voice: R79 for voice per month with costs starting at R0.30 for international, R0.37 for local calls and R0.30 International.

Total: R1129.00

The service from Garth at ISPAfrika was beyond fantastic. He replied to one of my emails at 9:21pm on a Sunday when I sent the mail at 9:20pm...truly amazing service. Was able to explain all the costs to my mother which is pretty amazing considering she doesn't understand anything other than email.

Requested install on the 25th of April. Telkom installed the line on May 10th. 15 days, not bad. Telkom installs a Alcatel Fiber router as part of the installation cost. They were very professional and completed the install in less than 2 hours. I then purchases a MikroTik RB750Gr Gigbit LAN from Scoop.co.za for R1250.00. Service from Scoop was also amazing.

Once line was installed sent the circuit number provided by Telkom to Garth and he activated our account. Setup the MikroTik and voila. 20 mbps fiber. As easy as 123 really.

If you are looking for a real alternative to ADSL I highly recommend you look into a similar package I got. Definatly worth it. Just keep in mind the upfront costs when ordering. ISPAfrika is upfront about all the cost but it may shock you.

All in all ISPAfrika and Afrihost get a 10/10 in my book.

Where do ISP Afrika come into the equation if Afrihost provide your data and Telkom provided the fibre?
Thanks in advance.

I'm also with ISPAfrika, so I'll answer.

The line is not from the Telkom ISP but Openserve (an arm of Telkom, separate from their ISP services). Any ISP can order a fibre installation from Openserve and pay line rental on behalf of a customer. Whether you go through Telkom or ISPAfrika makes no difference, other than how much money you save.

Yes Bryn is correct, I use ISP Afrika for the Fiber line rental as they were the cheapest I could find. Telkom just installed the fiber connection to my house which was ordered through ISP Afrika.

Agreed, had my 100MB Fibre done through ISPAfrika and Garth was fantastic as well. Excellent service overall, it's breathe of fresh air compared to many ISP's who couldn't give a ****. Installation cost was the standard R1700, regardless of where you go, unless you take out a contract.
