All of my arguments can be summed up as me arguing for my own best interest. You see, I don't exactly want the world to blow itself apart, because I rather need the planet in one piece.
As such, I think unneccessary warfare is stupid. I think denying people their right to self-determination is stupid. I think provoking a conflict for geopolitical ends is stupid, and I'm well aware that all sides pretty much do this all the time.
Nonetheless, the fact of the matter is that the world's economy is based on fiat monetary systems which have basically hit peak debt; I do think that the Dollar as reserve currency is coming to an end and I think that is going to result in a geopolitical paradigm shift.
I think it would have been better if Ukraine's govt. had never been overthrown by the USA and the EU and Russia could instead have talked out their differences. But the USA intentionally put a spanner in the works to stop the EU and Russia integrating economically. That economic integration would actually be better for the long-term wellbeing of the planet because countries that need each other tend to be too afraid to kill each other. So should I be irritated that the USA did this to secure their own position as top-dog of the planet? I think so. And I think all their other moves are similarly not in the general interest of people everywhere. Insofar as they are not, I speak out against them in the interest of people generally everywhere. I mean the USA does pretty much have global media dominance, a voice in the wilderness can't be all that threatening to their agitprop...
And when the USA collapses, well, it would be better if Israel was on speaking terms with it's neighbours, wouldn't it? It would be better if it wasn't facing a domestic Arab revolt, wouldn't it? It's in Israel's interests to settle the Occupied Territories issue sooner rather than later, no?
And the simple truth is that from here on out, oil is going to be harder and harder to justify in terms of ERoEI and that's going to put a serious crimp in future economic growth. We simply can't carry on the way we have been; and when the current system falls to a lower energy state I want the descent to be as painless as possible. No more, no less.
