Has any one heard anything about IS's uncapped option. I read that they have been developing uncapped ADSL but that is all i have heard. Any one know anything about that ???
"Internet Solutions has tried to offer its own service regardless and has run into a brick wall. In mid-February, the company launched a free ADSL trail, which should by now have been converted into a commercial service. It has not been. "We are currently in discussions with Telkom about that," says Geoff Rehmet, a business development consultant with the company"
"Undoubtedly a roll-out of broadband along the lines seen in Europe and the US will happen, but it is two years away," says Derek Hershaw, GM of M-Web Connect.
Ten months to go then, I don't think I will bet on it.
I mailed a friend at an ISP regarding a proxy service and received this reply on 08/06/04:
Unfortunately we do not have a service in operation at this time, though a product is being made operational as we speak through the IS back-bone and might be available in 2-3 months time.
Ah Ha, I have friends in high places. My info is always right IS has been running test phases for a while now, UUnet was doing the same and scrapt the whole project cause of telkom, they just is just was not worth it. Hope it is a realistic feasible option!!!
As long as Telkom remains a mono paly they will break everybody and everyone who stand in they way , and will make they own laws to suit them . what do we do when They write they own laws via ICSA well they all buddys hay ...
