It All Comes Back to NATO

NATO is an extension of the United Snakes military - that much is clear and the other members enjoy a free ride - no need to have a big military now. Safe in the arms of Snake Sam is how they see it. And they save money, money that makes national health care possible for instance.

who guards the guards?

Gaddafi and Asad both were/are objectively better for the world than what followed their removal/attempted removal, yet they're labelled dictators.

So the US has proven, time and again, it cannot be trusted to be the world's policeman. What makes you think NATO can be trusted with that role? ... ignoring for the moment the fact that it is officially not NATO's role, they're all about the "defence"
No one needs to guard the guards because they’re not either killing their own people or killing innocent people in other countries (no, mistakes don’t count).

Dictators and madmen like Putin are the threat and we need to be defended from them.

I’m so ashamed of South Africa’s support fro Russia I think I might try pull off that I’m Australian when overseas… our government have Russias blood on their hands just as much. And it’s not ANC, the EFF made it clear they behind Putin too.

More lost than a Russian convoy. Thread is over here:

The deliberate and willful destruction of infrastructure is not a mistake.
The deliberate and willful destruction of resources is not a mistake.
The deliberate and willful destruction of the economy is not a mistake.
The deliberate and willful arming and supplying of weapons and arms to groups in opposition to the legitimate leadership of a country is not a mistake.

They all contribute both directly and indirectly to the deliberate death of innocents.
If you believe that is justification to remove a leader of a country , just because they happen to be "not nice" or a bit dictatorial , you need serious help.

Boy you really have lost the plot

It's no wonder you're a Covid Karen

You can be a dictator and supposedly be better but only for a while. The trasitional periods may be nasty but if a better guy takes over or some sort of quasi democratic system takes over, that's better. When common people who stand to lose life or limb have more say in who starts wars and when, life becomes a little safer.

Yes NATO is a defensive pact. I feel safer traveling around Europe when NATO is in control.

Once funded, a politician and his preferred contractors cannot find a reason to accept a withdrawal of funding.

As hard as they try, and as objectively as they try. No matter how many academics, scientists, economists, psychologists or military strategists they consult.

Add to that, all funding - including the consultant fees - was confiscated at the point of a gun, i.e. as easy as taking candy from a baby. At this point it becomes a candy-from-baby addiction. And so babies should be confined to perpetual infancy i.e. 'from cradle to grave', or 'infantilization'.

And we wonder why the State and its cronies spend so much of their ill-gotten gains dumbing citizens down, and relieving them of adult decision-making responsibility.

State-employees and their preferred contractors know what it means to be increasingly efficient with an absentee consumer. Every State-employee understands the hushed, internal budget advice: 'use it or lose it'. Miraculously the world is faced with emergency after emergency. The greater the debt, the more urgent the emergency.

Reducing the budget of NATO, at the end of the cold war, would have been professional suicide. It should mean "job done", and "where is the next highest-priority need/want in the real economy?"

Do you know what NATO is? NATO is a mutual assurance pact, of defensive nature.

NATO is welcomed by countries such as Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovalia, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria and others. Germany itself went into NATO as did East Germany.

NATO is a defensive alliance. It has no political doctrine of its own.

Lew Rockewell is one of these highly isolationist, libertarian types. He is for isolationism. That group views are such. It's a fringe group, as much so as the KKK is a fringe group.

NATO is a good thing. It dampens Russian and other forms of expansionism.

centuries old monarchies tend to disagree

only on paper, actions speak louder than words, as loud as the bombing of Yugoslavia

NATO wanted to prevent a conflict like the one when Yugoslavia fell apart. Serbs while our allies in WW2 can be very brutal, as can the Albanian Kosovars. The method of stopping this war was not good, diplomacy should be always tried until it really can't go on, but the idea was to prevent a wider conflict and a larger loss of human life. Remember former Yugoslavians were prosecuted for war crimes.

Ukraine has been on the global ruling class satellite-to-be list since the coup in 2014.

NATO is not a defense alliance. On paper, yes, sure. But do you believe everything you read in the news?

You know what US foreign policy actually looks like, as opposed to US government foreign policy?
