IT clothing

I own 4 Golf shirts, but only wear 2 of them sometimes on a Friday or mid week when I feel like it.

Usually I wear a dark colour jean, but most of my pants are smart casual, in other words, it could pass well if I had a suit, but I don't.

I only wear button shirts. Some have prints, others don't and are plain and generally black or green or even check like.

Generally speaking. I won't wear any "image" on my body. Don't think it's a religious affiliation in my mind or anything, it's just not professional in my opinion and I think it should stay away at the back of my cupboard as well.

I prefer plain, but suitable and well looking and comfortable clothes.

Cotton cotton cotton, you won't generally find me in anything else, unless I really don't have clean clothes.

I work in a professional environment and according to the rules, everyday is casual day as of this year, but I still find I feel more comfortable wearing the clothes and sense of dress I started at my first interview.

I don't like labels and I don't like images or pictures as mentioned.

All in all. I look like a decent guy and I smell like one too ;) :D :p

Mon, Wed: Chinos + polyester shirt. Tie. Neat jersey or polar fleece jacket in the winter

Tues, Thursdays: Track suit (sport in the afternoon)

Fri: Black pants and white shirt. Tie.

I am in IT. I'm an IT teacher. :D :D :D

golf shirt + chino's -> this is my favorite, its formal yet it says im here to party :p
Button up shirt + neat jeans
All with square toes.

I think as long as the clothes are comfortable its sweet. Never wear suits... ah i love non-corporate companies.

Ok so if we have a catalog with

Button shirts, Golf shorts, T-shirts, Jeans, Chino's, hoodies, Jackets and Jerseys that should just about cover the whole variety of clothing ?

As for the branding like mentioned by teraside. The hoodies and T-shirts will have slogans and pictures. The other semi formal clothes will prob only have a less distinct label on the pocket of the button shirts and maybe a little design logo on the back of the shirt right between the shoulder blades. This will however be in a slightly darker colour than the garment colour thus one will have to look very very very closely to notice it.

But branding is a big part of clothing, I doubt we'll be able to do without it :o

Please - No Fleece! It's gross and should be exterminated.

hehe, yea I was referring to that type of jackets not the actual material. I hate it like sin. Everything clings onto it, especially hair  But I mean those type of jackets. You get them in another material appart from fleece :D

Hoodies for sure, as long as they look neat and dont have a skull on saying 'KILL DEATH' then i think it passes, i can wear hoodies here so i think thats a great idea. Make us some nice ones pit and gief pics :D i might buy some if the price is right *nudge*

I saw some brilliant phrases yesterday one could use, but need to look into those they might have been registered or something. Attorney is looking at it. According to him one can not trademark a phrase. But there is exclusions like Nike did. But we'll see.

This one had me laughing:

"I void Warrantees"

I worked at a place once that got Fossil (or the Fossil agent) to brand 300 fossil watches with the company logo. They where handed out as some kind of congratulations for some or other event. They became highly sought after items.

I've heard a few stories of corporate gift and clothing companies having issues with BEE when dealing with big corporates. Just FYI.

It's a side venture and I'm not looking at doing Corporates as yet. Currently just the normal IT guys looking for a place to buy nice market related clothing.

Pit, when you and your wife planning on having products available to the public ?

Just sold my shares for some cash flow :p

That should take about a week, then I need to find suppliers, I already registered www.itclothing.co.za so will the website designed once the money is available.

I think in about a month or 2 most. I also still need to register a cc. But can only do that once I have spent R 20k on business related expenditure. So I might just start trading as a sole proprietor till then. Will also have to go see SARS

Damn this is turning out to be allot of work :D

haha cool man. Wish you 2 the best of luck in getting this up and running. Keep us updated :)

Maybe those (de)motivational posters can be a source of tag lines etc. ...

Are you mad. The fleece they sell at Cape Union Mart and Due South are excellent. Of course they are not fit for a corporate environment but for everywhere else they are brilliant.

Fair enough. High quality ones are ok. I don't mean the sleeveless things. I'm talking about the long sleeve tops most corporates give to staff in company colors with logo on. Usually they are fire-engine red with one sleeve purple and the other sleeve yellow. They pill (get those little balls all over them) and really look bad really quickly.

Cargo's, random shirt, nintendo-gamepad belt buckle.

For the fake IT lads with MCSE you can make a line of pleather jackets.
