IT clothing

Hoodies for sure, as long as they look neat and dont have a skull on saying 'KILL DEATH' then i think it passes, i can wear hoodies here so i think thats a great idea. Make us some nice ones pit and gief pics :D i might buy some if the price is right *nudge*

You saying there's something wrong with my KILL DEATH hoody? I'll murder you for that!

Hmm, I usually just wear my knee-high kahki socks, white pt shorts and stormers rugby top. Can laak toe moer everyone who laffs! :D

Seriously though, I'd say cargo pants and geek t-shirts should do the trick.

Cargo's, random shirt, nintendo-gamepad belt buckle.

For the fake IT lads with MCSE you can make a line of pleather jackets.

Remember when MCSE first started the gave the MCSE's those black bouncer / bomber jackets. Funny.

Naah man, I did not mean let the cat out of the bag. I am asking is it women's clothing, is it accessories, kiddies stuff or what?

The idea originated with T-shirts in mind. We have explored that avenue and now it seems like doors have just started opening everywhere. This now went from T-shirts to this IT clothing idea under the same label. Which might just build the foundation for more things once the name is out there or crash and burn in the process.

The clothing label and clothing line is 2 different parts of one thing. There is no clothing line as yet, there is however a label. Now to get working on the clothing line.

So currently I would say, Urban + Semi-formal for now. But I'm doing the business part just shooting ideas at her which she seems to be taking in :)

Interesting.

I wonder what part of the market has the biggest gap. I have seen a few web sites selling maternity clothing which looks a lot better than the dowdy stuff in the department stores.

Since this will be starting off as an online shop only for the time being, my idea was to cater for the people who actually know how to use the internet :D And from what I can tell there is no local IT specific clothing store in SA. And I'm sure if you give the IT guys what they want, they will buy from you :)

But we'll have to wait and see. Nothing like burning your fingers first before actually getting somewhere ...

While I do like the idea I'm not sure an IT clothing online shop will get any kind of real sales unless there is some cult hype built up around it. Maybe the logo must be a penguin and the pants have built in USB ports or something geeky to make the stuff sell. I like the idea's of the humorous IT based slogans etc.

Yeah online clothe shops are a bit :/ People generally want to try on the clothes before they purchase it. e.g:
What if you order something and its to big/small? Have to send it back via courier and get the right size... then again what if the new size u order is also wrong. It will be a very long process due to couriers and in the end not worth it.

There is a way around this currently.

But that is an eclusive idea to our online catalog so will not spoil the beans just yet ;)

lol at 'spoil the beans'. Good one. I'll use it in future.

IT encompasses a lot of different work styles from the programmer to the cable pullers. How about different products to suit those different ends of the sector. Where I work I wear a 3/4 shorts ( the ones you get at Mr Price) although I would like the ones at Due South but the price is a bit steep for me at the moment.

There was an issue with shorts at work but I put it too my boss that the IT work I do is mixed. I'm a glorified pc assembler but I often end up working on PC systems that are in the outdoors, so I told him a suit just won't be practical. Like the civil engineers don't wear suits but where 3/4 shorts on most sites. So he saw the point and doesnt mind me wearing shorts which can be a real help in summer.

When I were a techie I sometimes had to crawl above ceilings to lay cables or crawl under desks to plug in a mouse at the back of the PC case. Can't wear chinos or your best R400 3/4 shorts doing that. I wore an overall for while doing jobs like that if I could see it coming.

if you can bring in nice good quality golf shirts, FOR TALL people,

my waist to shoulder is a bit long, and therefor the standard large and medium shirts, are not long enough, so your butt crack shows, Edgers had a range some time ago but there range consisted of 4 shirts, of witch i got 2 of each.

I'm the opposite. I'm 1.8m tall but I've got long legs and if I wear a shirt that fits my shoulders it looks like I'm wearing a mini skirt.

collared shirt with jeans. presentable and casual. mind you i do work in the fashion industry:)

I wear jeans and t-shirts, but usually I can't find a shirt that fits my arms :( the chest and length usually fists but shoulders and arms are a problem so I end up with nasty rash under my arm pits. So remember that not all people in IT are skinny, some of us do bodybuilding as well :D
