If you know your stuff you won't battle to find a job, but if your skills are average... you'll battle like everyone else.
I don't understand how does one really know your stuff. I worked in a networking company for 2 years and thought I mastered it all no one could tell me anything.
Then I quit my job and started working for another company and suddenly I know hardly anything.

To me the only real skill I've learned is when faced with a problem I can see it through to the end. Everything else is just Google basically

That being said, I'm seeing multitudes of idiots finding jobs very easily. So skills being average to poor is still acceptable as always, as long as you can prove you've worked in IT before and know where to turn a PC on, you can do anything.
