Well. I said in the other thread that complaining should work. Obviously something clicked in neotel's head. Finally, after 3 weeks of pain, it works, and mind you on tower 300, a tower that i've had problems with since i got my phone.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 896 kbps (112 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 63 kbps (7.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

RSSI is now 79 to tower 300

Tower 320 is still dead. If it was alive then im sure id be hitting 200kB/s like it was last before it died.

Here was my formula for success ---> Phone tech center and ask to speak to a guy called Kumbulani. He actually knows what he is doing. Follow up the next day with an email with time referencing and such.

It worked for me :D

it's Quite Weird Actually - The iBurst on this side isn't Too bad either!! I can actually surf for a change!

what the hell is going on today?

It Works

Good to hear that! We have been making some tweeks here and there to improve the performance.

So hows about you get the arbs that you have as employees to get their crap together and fix the problem here in Durban ..... yesterday and this morning was a pleasure (note the sarcasm if you will) of no connection and even now it's slower than dial-up. Sound good? I hope so

maybe Seacom feeding bandwidth into the local section is starting to take effect?

Sigh. It was working until about an hour ago

This proves that it CAN work when they want it to.

@rep

Please before "fixing" tower 300 again, tell the techs the get tower 320 back online. It was the best tower.

I'm happy for all you guys, no really, I am (no sarcasim)

I'm still sitting on 20kb a sec but hey... *glare at Neotel rep*

I'm next on your 'to help' list right?

Back up again. I dunno wtf it is. Seems like it can work when they want it to.

Tower 320 still dead. Just need you rep to fix 320 then im ok :D

Neotel should ditch the entire call center and push those funds into infrastructure and engineers. If everything was working nobody would call support.

I got confirmation from a real techi at Neotel today and he says the reason for my line drop is poor signal, from the results posted i'm getting quite good signal compared to the rest of you guys, I've gotten line speeds of 1.7mb and downloads of about 200kbs so i assume the rest of your problems have to do with signal as well. RSSI as low as 65 sometimes but i'm still having problems

He acknowledged:eek: that the stations are overloaded and that towers will drop the guys with the worst signal first.

(Please note that the RSSI of 65 is only when I'm upstairs, I haven't had it long enough upstairs to test my line drop problem at this type of quality signal)
