iTunes music distorted

Can anyone help - all my music is distorted on iTunes - sounds as if the sound is speeded up and there is a lot of jumping.

Funny part is the music plays fine with VLC. I see there was an issue with Windows iTunes but have not found anything (yet) on the Mac.

Do the tunes play ok in Quicktime?

Actually I have had it before the upgraded.. thought the upgrade would sort it out but no go.

I noticed that my music skips on my iphone after the last sync using iTunes8 on windows, never did that before.

So how do I fix it??

So I deleted everything and reloaded the iTunes library from my iMac and backups. All fine now. Thank goodness for backups...
