Well, I committed the cardinal sin of any SA ADSL user, I actually tried to do some "broadbandy" things with my ADSL connection. Like a moron, I downloaded a movie (Zeitgeist Movie) as well as downloading Ubuntu Linux in the same month. I'm now well and properly capped, only able to access local sites.

Does anybody have a list of fun, interesting local websites that I can access? I'm filled with renewed revulsion at the state of broadband in this country and the more I think about Telkom, the more I want to vomit!!

Well at least you picked a good documentary to use your bandwidth on. Some very interesting stuff in Zeitgeist.
 
Just reset da router maan!:D.......I been capped twice this month.....somehow my connection is magically restored with a flick of an on/off switch.....and somtimes a little patience;)

Why is it that on months when I don't use my 3GB bandwidth allotment fully (very rare), my bandwidth is not carried over to the next month? And which sock-smoking executive bastard at Telkom decided on an arbitrary 3GB cap anyways?

I have hereby committed myself to vigorously supporting any company that gives Telkom competition, starting from VOX Telecom's ADSL phone to Neotel, to anybody_BUT_Telkom!!!

I hereby commit myself to actively discouraging friends, family and associates from ever using Telkom unless absolutely necessary. I will be on a conversion-crusade as soon as I get my Axxess 1GB top-up account. I feel cheated, robbed, helpless...thank you MyADSL'ers for listening :-)
 
I was capped on my 3Gig account on about 4.5 Gig?

WTF Is going on :P

You WHAT!!?? That is totally against the Telkom AUP. People like you need to be reported to Telkom so that they can take the necessary legal action against you. How very dare you try to download a movie on a broadband line? :sick:
 
Yeah, some can download tons of GB and don't get capped while I got capped on 2.04 on Do 2. Have tried switching router on/off to no avail.

Still flying at 4mbps my side international, pity that the spare HDD I bought this month is only a 250GB which will be full before the day is done.:eek:

Hmm, you are pissed at telkom for imposing a 3Gb cap - which you sign up for and purchased without a 9mm at your forehead... You then state your on a mission to 'covert' everyone to a 1Gb account. Do you know how retarded that sounds?

You know what's more retarded, a cap that's measured in SINGLE DIGITS. Please don't try to defend the company you work for here, Telkom's ADSL is overpriced with a tiny cap, low speed, unreliable and we don't have any other company to go to since Telkom, being the uncompetitive assclowns that they are, have tried to stop Neotel from getting off to a smooth start so please forgive me when I puke while reading your post again.
