Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri passes away

Communications Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri died of natural causes on Monday night, the Presidency said.

Presidential spokesperson Thabo Masebe said on Tuesday that Matsepe-Casaburri, whose health hasn't been good in the last couple of months, died at a Pretoria hospital. She was 71.

Maybe they should have sent her to the same prison that Shabby Shaik went to. A couple of months at death's door and she'd have been right as rain.

I just saw that the other thread has been closed, because of all the abusive comments.

But, can you really blame the people for feeling the way they do about Ivy?

Apparently we can't speak ill of the dead, but we lambasted her when she was alive... :/

Yet somehow Mantu Babalaas-Msimang and her 47 livers have managed to survive.

Shame if we speak ill of her!
I don't think blasting Saddam Husseins death was an issue, I don't think Zuma's or Malema's death would be an issue, why should hers??

Old age? She was far over the avarage...

Though I don't think she had a slow punkcha; too "full-figured" for that assumption. Guess her heart just gave out, she wasn't a petite lady and there is only so much stress the blood pump can take.

Rofl Punkcha Rofl

what were the health issues she died of? anyone know? Or was it just old age?

condolences to her family.

Condolences to Ivy's family...

Among others positions, Matsepe-Casaburri was the first woman to be appointed to the board of the CSIR; the first black person and woman to become chairperson of SENTECH; the first female and black chairperson of the board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation from 1993 1997

Very awe-inspiring track record there.

On the radio they said she died while undergoing an operation, but didn't give more specifics.

***Please keep the comments clean - we don't want another closed thread people.***

Yes, do keep them clean, but do remember she was not well liked in communications circles so do not criticise when people speak ill of her either.
