Ivy says judge erred

I think its time they take it directly to her and sue for all sorts of things but this is SA and most companies would rather milk the public and enjoy their piece of the pie i guess. I wonder if something like the scorpions can't do an investigation into the whole telecoms sector of investment etc.. but thats just wishful thinking because it won't ever happen.

scorpions... what scorpions? They got to close to finding corruption in our goverment, so our goverment disbanded them....

According to the official notice-to-appeal document, Matsepe-Casaburri’s legal team argues that Justice Davies “ventured into the area of policy making contrary to section 5 read with 96 of the Telecommunications Act which empower the Minister to make regulations.”

But isn't that the point of the judgement? To determine that when Ivy made the regulations about self-provision, the Telecommunications Act was no longer in effect and had been replaced by the ECA and that the honorable minister no longer had the right to make regulations?

we all know ivy is stupid, but that could just be said out loud?

“managed liberalisation policy”
Ivy's definition of Liberalisation is proven by her actions to be a work of absolutely amazing fiction. The only Liberalisation that has taken place is:
- The further liberalisation of mones from our pockets because the Ivy introduced competition does not actually compete.
- Nothing.

I challenge her royal Ivyness to provide examples of this oh so great Liberalisation!

I say we sue Thabo Mbeki who appointed her and kept her in power all these years.
Let his state salary become ours, so he can become poor and one with the people he ignored all those years................

Ivy says judge erred.

Did Ivy just fall into a legal ambiguity trap whereas her legal team is telling her that the judgement itself has holes in it to exploit. Well, very few judgements don't have some form of double meaning or loophole as it is the very nature of the legal animal.

At her age one would think she would be wiser. With no offence intended to the legal profession it is ambiguity that allows these sorts of cases to prosper and continue and in this case at the expense of the Country from a Telecommunications point of view and from our taxes to pay for the legal council that rub their hand together each time the show goes on the road.

Ivy needs to stop power-tripping and start doing things for this country. She's been sitting on her fat @rse all along profiting on the high revenues Telkom has been generating. Managed liberalisation is costing this country billions. I hope she is one of the ministers who goes!

This woman tries hard to be unpopular. Stupid *****

Not up for reelection.

I think we can be almost 100% sure Ivy wont be Minister after 2009 as this is how Politics works.

Keep the unpopular Minister in the position as long as you can while said Minister fulfils your Party's (ANC's) Mandate and then at the last minute retire said Minister off, place a new person in this position with a seemingly new broom. Keeps everyone happy on the day as it appears your Party is actually doing something to change the status quo, but you achieved what you wanted to achieve and that was to stall the process as long as possible.

This whole thing is a lot bigger than just Ivy. Ivy is being told what to do.
All we can look forward to is more years of slow and expensive internet while Ivy has a nice cushy retirement package ahead of her paid for by you and me.

This is the crazy world we live in.

I'm surprised she is still minister! I mean they got rid of Manto Babalaas-Msimang, why not send that other doughnut eating double-barrelled surname useless piece of suburban bugel trash with her?

@BTTB

I am beginning to think the sad situation of telecoms in SA is indeed a larger thing than just Poison Ivy.

I am beginning to think that the ANC is doing this on purpose, as a form of censorship on it's citizens, like the Chinese do...

I hear she is a huge Mbeki supporter, and was one of the principal plotters behind the initial prosecution of Zuma.

Just planting some seeds....;)

lawyers appeal, dont they? i mean, it guarantees u more revenue, and u take it 2 another court if 1 court doesnt like ur story. then u appeal some more. i just wish i was representing gov on any of their _many many_ cases.:p
