Meanwhile, in other breaking news, a tree just fell over in South Eastern Siberia.
"Comrade Selebi has been a long standing member of the African National Congress and the ANCYL,"
"As we close the chapter of his life, we are opening the chapter of his legacy which will inspire generations to come to serve this nation with loyalty and steadfastness."
"I have good memories when I worked with him at [ANC headquarters] Shell House in the early 90s. I recall him to be a good comrade."

SELEBI A 'GIANT AND LEADER': ANC...
One corrupt thieving ANC comrade goes, three corrupt thieving ANC comrades take his place.
He sucked in his duties, but condolences to his family.
I see the ANC were very careful in omitting anything about being surprised about his death. Normally they're "shocked" and "outraged" about everything. I can just imagine showerhead blundering though: "It comes... eh... as a great surprise to those... eh... of us...who eh... knew... this man."
Aye. Beeld editor on radio this afternoon mentioned his disgrace as chief of police, a job he apparently did not want. Also mentioned his successes as a teacher in the townships and social work from Shell House. Always going to be remembered for his failures. Such a pity, hey.
Other people's money....nuffsaidDo you know how to deal with a job you don't want? You don't take it.
What you don't do is take said job and then use it to personally enrich yourself at your country's expense.
Any positive things Selebi achieved are overshadowed by his massive failures, and he will justly be remembered for that. Or not remembered; history has a habit of forgetting failures.
