Has anyone ever had to deal with this ****stain of a company? I subscribed to their Marvel Collection last month because I thought it seemed like a good deal. They promised delivery of my first order within 28 days of the subscription being activated. On the 13th I emailed them because it had been more than a month, my credit had not been charged and there was no delivery in sight. They promised it would be here within 7 days. Then yesterday I get a letter in the POST telling me my credit card was declined. It was dated the 5th of October, so instead of emailing me on the email address they have on record for my account, they post a letter that takes two weeks to arrive, telling me that my payment didn't go through. Even more funny is it's a R200 limit student card and has been at a neutral balance all month. They were supposed to charge R99 as per their subscriber offer for the first delivery. I can only assume these morons tried to to charge the full R300 that is the standard price.
At this point I also had not received any delivery so I decided to just cut my losses short and tell them to cancel sub, order their courier to return the books and give me written confirmation that my account was canceled, that I never received any goods and that I owe them no money. This is because I went to their Facebook an Hellopeter and saw lots of people reporting that they cancel their subscriptions due to non-delivery and then months or years later they get handed over to debt collectors who obviously tack on whatever fees they feel like. Their response to this email? Oh I must wait until the 29th for delivery. No word on my request for cancellation.
Ugh, how do companies manage to stay in business for this long if this is how bad their service is? To anyone thinking about getting the Marvel or DC Comic Book collections, don't subscribe! Get them through CNA every two weeks instead if you really want them that bad. Save yourself the headache.
You can check out their Facebook and HelloPeter pages for yourself to see how bad they are:

Does anyone have any advice for a situation like this? All I want is to extricate myself from this situation in such a way that I don't lose any money and don't get calls from debt collectors a year or two down the line. I want nothing further to do with this company.
